Elena and Michael balanced their fascination with the Penrose murder with their love of historic details through our Heritage Collection package. Their May wedding began with an optional historical tour for interested guests, while others enjoyed cocktails in the farmhouse library where they could browse the case files at their leisure.
Their ceremony in the Spiral Garden incorporated subtle nods to the case—the bride carried a bouquet featuring the same rose varieties found scattered near Lily's body, and their custom vows referenced how love transcends even the darkest circumstances.
For the reception, guests were treated to a champagne tower using the barn's original 1920s champagne flutes that Sarah found in the attic. A Jazz trio played period music during cocktail hour while historic photos of the barn and area were displayed on vintage easels throughout the space. Some guests even arrived in style in a restored 1920s Packard automobile, which was made possible through a partnership with a local rare auto dealer.
The celebration featured signature cocktails based on actual recipes from local 1920s newspapers, and the old hay loft was transformed into a speakeasy-style whiskey bar for the reception. Guests enjoyed capturing memories in a vintage photo booth complete with period-appropriate props and costumes.
Their reception transformed the main barn from historical site to celebration space through dramatic lighting changes that shifted the focus from the preserved crime scene to their beautifully designed reception space. The entire event was announced with custom Art Deco-inspired invitation suites featuring the barn's original architectural drawings.
Dinner tables featured centerpieces with subtle spiral elements and vintage crime scene photography books as guest favors. Their first dance took place under a custom light projection of the Penrose Spiral that slowly transformed into their intertwined initials, symbolizing how their love story was now part of the property's evolving history.
