Interior designers Jason and Michael selected the Gothic Romance Package for their Saturday celebration with 40 guests who share their love of historic architecture and dramatic gothic design. The evening began with a midnight ceremony under the stars, with the estate pathways lined with lanterns leading guests to the ceremony site.
The dramatic uplighting cast haunting shadows on the barn walls, creating an atmosphere of mystery and romance throughout the venue. Their ceremony took place in the spiral garden, the space adorned with wrought iron candelabras holding black taper candles that flickered in the night breeze as they exchanged vows written on handmade paper.
For the reception, the couple transformed the historic barn with custom black-lace table overlays topped with deep red rose centerpieces, while Gothic calligraphy adorned all signage and place cards. Guests relaxed on luxurious black velvet lounge furniture positioned strategically around the perimeter of the custom-designed spiral pattern dance floor.
As night fully descended, the reception space was illuminated by specially designed Gothic chandeliers, under which Jason and Michael shared their moonlit first dance. A string quartet played darkly romantic versions of modern love songs, creating an enchanting soundtrack for the evening.
The celebration featured a signature "Star-Crossed Lovers" cocktail served in smoke-filled glasses, delighting guests with both visual drama and exquisite flavor. The showstopping black champagne tower with burgundy roses created a stunning focal point that perfectly embodied the couple's gothic-romantic aesthetic.
For their dramatic evening photography session, Jason and Michael posed among dramatically lit architectural features, creating stunning silhouettes against the illuminated barn and capturing intimate moments in the warm glow of string lights.
The celebration concluded with a dazzling display of paper lanterns released into the night sky as the couple and their closest friends continued dancing well into the evening under the stars.
